I really thought I would never be going back to Swaziland! But we are headed that way!
Last week we took our squad , alongside the other gap squad, to Black mountain, North Carolina to help with adventures in missions disaster relief program called adventures relief! There we partnered with AR missionaries who have dedicated their life to helping restore over 400 houses in the area that were hit by Hurricane Helene just over 1 year ago! My team spent the majority of our time doing crawlspace insulation and the paper that goes over it! We got in very small spaces, side by side, face to face with many spiders, jumping cricket things, and the dust of insulation “fluff”. I am so proud of my Gili girls because they had no grumbling, just willing spirits!
Then our squad is debriefed our time at training camp and preparing to go over seas!
Personally I can’t believe this is real. I am writing this at the end of a 16 hour layover in Istanbul! I am exhausted. Smelly. But I am ready! I won’t have much service for personal use during my time in Swazi, but I think that will be only a benefit to my time and my squads time in this country. We will be living in a different city then the boys teams and that will also hopefully bring depth and intimacy on our squad!
I am still fundraising and am praying for a small miracle to be fully funded soon so I won’t have to focus on fundraising, but rather have all my attention on caring for my team and my squad!
