This is my second year not being home for Christmas. Even my Grab driver ( Asia’s Uber) are shocked to hear that I am staying away for such a big holiday for Americans. My team of 6 girls all long to be with their families, missing big traditions and new things happening in their families. They look to me for the hug, the word of hope, and overall just needing extra support.

In Malaysia the work we are doing is a little bit unpredictable, and spontaneous. I learned that I am actually not great at the unplanned things. I have learned in these last 4 months that I LOVE a schedule, I LOVE order and I LOVE organization. Yet here I sleep shoulder to shoulder on the ground, with 25 girls, with one bathroom. Each week my team goes to a small “school” that our pastor started for refrugg students. We teach them one on one for a few hours, but sometimes when we show up my team leaves and meets with Chinese pastors over local breakfast. We also have the opportunity to work in a Bakery with special needs adults! If you know me well, you would know that is right up my ally! We are mostly working with their marketing and the buildings designs. Once a week my team helps put on church because our home church actually has 7 nights a week services, with the main one being on a Friday. We often get a text on the fly saying we have dance practice, or tambourine practice, or Christmas carolling practice. Usually around 10pm.

All that to say, my life here is actually the opposite of how the Lord designed me to be comfortable in. But yet God is still moving. I am having fresh revelations from the Lord about my life and my future. I am having a ton of fun with my friends, and in my team! And I am able to see how the Lord is using our pastor to bring the light of Jesus into this city, and this country!

Despite the weather being hot and humid here, it seems seasonal depressions till hits. The December blues. Man it is tough! I am in content prayer with others and asking for advise and help. I am calling my parents more than I ever have on either race.

We as a squad have a otn planned for Christmas which is great and honesty I think that once December passes, it will get better. Each day is a bit of a roller coaster , with not everyone on the same page for how they are doing.

I wanted to send this blog to ask for Prayer.

Prayer that we as a squad get through this patch.

Prayer that we find and hold onto the hope that God alone brings us.

Prayer that myself and many other racers can continue to fundraise for this trip.

Prayer that I continue to lead my team well, with our unpredictable schedule.

Prayer that I feel peace about not knowing my future post race.

Prayer that I enjoy everyday that I am here!

Proverbs 13:12

“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is the tree of life.”

Thank you everyone for reading, for praying and for supporting me.

I am blessed to live this life and I am blessed to use the gifts the Lord gave me to lead others towards Jesus and walking into their best lives!

I need $1,602 more to be fully fundraised for this trip!
